The Stones of Vicenza: Study Tour

The classical tradition in design and drawing

Vicenza, Italy 7-10 July 2017

The Study Tour will give participants the opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the classical tradition, with the architecture and landscapes of Vicenza as primary source study material. Vicenza’s townscape and the surrounding countryside offer an extraordinary sense of place through their landscape, built heritage, and design, as well as the highly influential architectural legacy of Palladio’s 16th century villas. Learning and observation will be enhanced through sketching and drawing in a number of locations. Participants will also have lectures, guided visits of the Teatro Olimpico and Palladio Museum, and the chance to participate in a live ‘sketchmob’.

The Vicenza Study Tour will directly follow the INTBAU Italy Milan conference. Registrations are welcome for one or for both events.
