11:00 AM – 1:30 PM: Exploring Kontorhäuser in Hamburg The Kontorhäuser in Hamburg were the first office buildings in the city. They have been built since 1885 (Berlin only started building them in 1921) and play an important role in the development of office architecture. Meeting point: Entrance of the S-Bahn station “Stadthausbrücke,” Michaelisbrücke 3, 20459 Hamburg

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Lunch Break

2:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Tour of the Architecture Archives We will have an exclusive guided tour through the archives of architectural drawings. Founded in 1984, the “Architekturarchiv” is the main institution for collecting historical documents related to the architectural history of Hamburg.

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Walking Tour of New Classical Buildings We will visit the new block of flats designed by Sebastian Treese in Uhlenhorst and new buildings designed by Kahlfeldt Architects in Harvestehude. This will be combined with a walk around the Alster lake. Afterwards, we might have lunch together at a bistro. Meeting point: Karlstraße 27, 22085 Hamburg
