INTBAU Portugal together with INTBAU Spain are delighted to announce the first Iberian meeting taking place 8-9 April 2016. The meeting will be in Vila Nova de Cerveira, Portugal, with support from the Escola Superior Gallaecia (ESG), the University Alfonso X El Sabio, the Research Center of Traditional Architecture (CIAT) and the City Council.
The location of Vila Nova de Cerveira has been chosen as it stands on “border territory” between the two countries. ESG’s students come from both Spain and Portugal, a happy example of Iberian integration which we would like to explore in this context.
The meeting has been given the broad title of “Urban Traditions”. This will be presented within the complementary perspectives of Culture, Architecture, Heritage and Urban Landscape.
The meeting will also include a workshop taking place on 7 April. It will be focused on the collecting, surveying and drafting of local architectural details.
