Volunteer opportunity: Video Content Editor (Social Media & YouTube)

INTBAU is seeking a volunteer Video Content Editor to support the creation of professional video content for social media and YouTube. This flexible, remote opportunity is open to individuals with an interest in the built environment who wish to gain experience, develop portfolio material, and contribute to a global mission.

The International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism continues to grow at an exciting pace, with new chapters and members joining from all over the world. As our community expands, so does the opportunity to celebrate and share the work, ideas, and the traditions that shape our built environments.

We see video as a powerful way to bring these stories to life—helping to showcase the people, places, and projects that define the Network’s shared efforts.

In line with current trends in digital communication and knowledge sharing, we are inviting a volunteer to help us develop thoughtful, engaging video content that reflects the depth and diversity of the INTBAU network.

Volunteer – Video Content Editor (Social Media & YouTube)

INTBAU is seeking a volunteer to support the creation of video content for our social media channels and YouTube platform. This role focuses on producing clear, engaging, and professional videos that communicate knowledge related to traditional building, architecture, urbanism, and building crafts in a contemporary and accessible way.

This voluntary role may be of interest to anyone with an enthusiasm for architecture, urbanism, building crafts, media production, design, or related fields. We welcome applications from individuals at different stages of their careers, including those seeking to build experience, broaden their portfolio, transition into the sector, or return to practice.

Alongside contributing to an international organisation working across architecture, urbanism, and building crafts, you will gain exposure to a global network of practitioners, academics, and institutions.

Volunteering overview

The volunteer will assist with creating and editing short-form videos for social media, as well as longer-form video content for YouTube. Footage and core content will be provided by INTBAU staff.

The tone of the content is institutional yet engaging, focusing on clarity and thoughtful presentation rather than entertainment-driven formats.

This is a remote voluntary role, and we welcome applications from individuals based anywhere in the world. Applicants must be aged 18 or over.

Key tasks

  • Create short videos for platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Edit longer-form video content for YouTube (talks, interviews, lectures, events).
  • Follow INTBAU visual identity and communication style (guidance will be provided).

Skills and profile

  • Strong interest in traditional building, architecture, urbanism, heritage, crafts, or the built environment in general.
  • Video editing skills.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva and Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to work with existing visual materials and brand guidelines.

What we offer

• Opportunity to contribute to an international organisation working across architecture, urbanism, and building crafts.
• Exposure to a global network of practitioners, academics, and institutions.
• Opportunity to build experience producing content for professional audiences.
• Portfolio material published on official channels.
• Recommendation letter upon successful completion of the volunteer period.

Additional information

This is a voluntary, unpaid role intended to offer learning and professional development opportunities. The position is flexible and designed to fit around study or other commitments, with guidance and feedback provided by INTBAU staff throughout the process.

Volunteers support the work of INTBAU on a voluntary basis and do not hold employee status. A volunteer agreement will be shared to outline expectations and ensure a positive and rewarding experience for both parties.
