Zeynep’s work focuses on traditional design and crafts in Architectural Design with project portfolio comprising of Mosques, Cultural Centres and historic buildings. Zeynep co-founded her own design studio IK Architecture Group which operates from Liverpool.

Zeynep studied Architecture at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria and then continued to work in Architecture Practice, moving first to Berlin and then Istanbul, where she worked in an office focused on traditional Turkish architecture.

In 2016 she joined the School of Traditional Arts to study an MA. Her practical research focused on hand drawings and painting techniques. She also gained knowledge of traditional material preparation techniques. She was awarded a Distinction as well as the Kairos Prize presented by HRH Prince of Wales.

In November 2018, Zeynep was awarded the INTBAU Excellence Award in the Emerging Talent category for her design of a Turkish Cultural Centre in London, presented at the INTBAU World Congress.

Currently, she works on both private commissions and architectural designs.
