Diana Yu has been an Associate at ADAM Architecture since 2013. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture degree specialising in classical and traditional design. She spent her third year living in Rome, Italy, studying its extensive collection of historic classical buildings and understanding as a designer how incredibly flexible, adaptable, and creative classicism can be.
She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas which was very much part of the fast growth, automobile-focused, suburban lifestyle. Her education and career are in some ways is a reaction against the urban and architectural principles which dictated Texas suburban sprawl.
Diana has a strong interest in sustainability, vernacular architecture, and history. In her free time she enjoys traveling, sketching, boxing, and cycling. Diana is involved with several professional organisations. Other than taking a leading role as a member of the INTBAU Young Professionals Group, she is a member of the Young Georgians Group, the Architecture Club, and is on the Traditional Architecture Group committee. She is also actively involved in mentoring young professionals in the FLUID Diversity Mentoring Programme and in promoting women in architecture.
