Anne Fairfax is an American architect, based in New York. Ms. Fairfax received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The University of Virginia in 1985, and a Masters of Sustainable Urban Development from Oxford University in 2019 . As part of her studies, she attended an Architecture Study Programme in Venice Italy in 1985 and the Attingham Summer School in 1999. Ms. Fairfax is principal at Fairfax, Sammons & Partners Architects LLC in Palm Beach, Florida and Fairfax & Sammons Architects Inc PC in New York.

WORK

Ms Anne Fairfax started Fairfax & Sammons Architects with Richard Franklin Sammons, in 1992 and Fairfax, Sammons & Partners in 1999. The firms specialize in traditional and classical design residential design and neighborhood regeneration. From 1989- 1992 she was partner in Anne Fairfax Design Partners in Honolulu developing projects in traditional residential architecture.

Anne Fairfax’s work has been the recipient of numerous prizes. In 2004, her firm was awarded the Masterworks Award from the Municipal Art Society in New York and the 2013 Arthur Ross Award for Lifetime Achievement. Over a twenty year period, her firm has won numerous Stanford White Awards, Addison Mizner Awards, Palladio Award.

Ms. Fairfax was a graduate-level studio design professor at The Georgia Institute of Technology School of Architecture, awarded The Harrison Associates Scholar in Historic Preservation in 2004.

In 1996 Ms. Fairfax was an instructor at the The Prince of Wales’s Institute of Architecture American Summer Program for architecture design studio. She also was an instructor for a course in typography and architecture at The Institute for the Study of Classical Architecture in 1992.
