Intermediate Programme: Fully Booked!
The Intermediate programme will take place in Transylvania from 11-26 June 2012. Programme participants, with some prior experience, will be able to develop their practical and analytical skills in relation to the maintenance, repair and conservation of historic buildings. They will be assigned work on 14th and 18th century sites which are in need of various repairs, to be undertaken with supervision.

The training programme includes:

•    introduction to INTBAU and the work programme;
•    health and safety rules;
•    tools, conservation and restoration;
•    structures & materials;
•    lecture & practical: lime mortar for stonework, brickwork and plaster;
•    lecture & practical: mixing lime mortars & additives;
•    lecture & practical: cutting out defective mortar from stone and brickwork;
•    lime pointing and dubbing out stonework and brickwork;
•    case studies of work carried out in England and Romania; and
•    question and answer sessions.

The attendance fee is £990 and includes tuition, 14 nights accommodation, all meals, materials, tools, protection equipment, local trips and tea breaks.
