Drawing in the Byzantine Style: London, 2012 (TBA)
INTBAU UK is pleased to announce a 4-day intensive course in drawing, supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute in London. The course will be suitable for all levels and abilities and will focus on teaching the Byzantine style of drawing. Participants will receive an introduction to the style, and will learn to work creatively with concise lines to find their own individual technique. The course will be limited to 10 participants to ensure the maximum of one-to-one tuition.Participants will learn from demonstrations and through the careful observation of images. By the end of the course participants should have an understanding of the Byzantine style and its expression in drawing. Above all, the course will aim to inspire the confidence necessary to the enjoyment of drawing.
About the Tutor
The course will be taught by Adrian Iurco, who is a Romanian painter and artist. Most of his work has focused on fresco painting, having received commissions from a number of churches and monasteries in Romania and Russia. He has also produced laic painting and drawings, some of which have been exhibited in Romania and England. Currently, Adrian is concluding his PhD studies at The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in London. Most recently he led drawing courses organised in Faversham and Oxford, England.
