Contact

Pietro Lenzini was born in Bondeno in 1947, and now lives and works in Faenza. He is a painter, printmaker, designer, and Professor of Perspective and Scenography at the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts. From 1961-1965, Lenzini attended the Institute of Mosaic Art in Ravenna, and then enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.

Work

In 1969 Lenzini completed his studies, and subsequently embarked on three important years of experience with Luciano De Vita at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Here Lenzini participated in the implementation of Turandot (Verdi) and Otello (Shakespeare), while with Luciano Minguzzi he designed the scenes of Moses (Rossini). He devoted himself to engraving and creating etchings published in folders, including the six sheets engraved in 1972 for the Orphic Songs of Dino Campana and those of 1975 showing scenes of the Apocalypse of St John.

Since 1979 Lenzini has served as Professor of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. In 1988, he designed and decorated the altar of the Blessed Celia Barbieri in the Church of San Giovanni in Persiceto Budrie.

Lenzini has created paintings and sculptures for churches, an altarpiece for the church of San Paradise Ippolito and San Lorenzo, Faenza, as well as two large paintings for the Collegiate Church of One Hundred. Over the years he has exhibited in many cities, including Bologna, Cesena, Faenza, Ferrara, Florence, Rome, and Bilbao. His works are in several public collections.
