Alireza Sagharchi R.I.B.A., BA (Hons), Dip. Arch. is the principal of Stanhope Gate Architecture + Urban Design, which specialises in masterplanning high quality Resort, Hotel and Residential developments. He received his Diploma in Architecture from the University of Westminster [PCL], London, and has been a corporate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects since 1986.
Work
During his professional career, Alireza has been responsible for a number of high-profile projects, including masterplanning in the commercial, resort/leisure and private residential sectors, in the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East. Notable among these projects are master plans for residential resorts in Croatia and Romania, Embassies in Mayfair and Belgravia, London, a Palace complex in Madrid and masterplanning of equestrian facilities in Spain and major residences in the middle-east.
He was formerly the senior associate in charge at the firm of Porphyrios Associates for the New Quadrangle and Theatre for Magdalen College, Oxford; the Kings Cross regeneration preliminary master plan, London; Princeton University Whitman College Masterplan, major office buildings in Brindleyplace, Birmingham, England; the Forbury Masterplan and office building in Reading, England, for Argent Development Consortium, and five-star hotel projects in Germany, Greece and Egypt.
Alireza has taught at the Prince of Wales' Institute of Architecture, and held Mater classes at The Princes Foundation. He has been a visiting critic the University of Notre Dame Rome Programme , Greenwich University and Yale . He is a founder member and the current Chairman of the Traditional Architecture Group at the R.I.B.A. and is a member of the Prince's Foundation .Alireza sits on the Casework Panel of the Georgian Group and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
