International Summer School Sibiu 2012

The International Summer School Sibiu 2012 will take place in Romania in August and September. Spiru Haret University and Maestro Solutions are the organisers. INTBAU Romania is an institutional partner.

The following three courses will be offered.

Architectural Freehand Drawing | 27.08.2012 – 02.09.2012

The goal of this one week summer course is to guide and give students an insight into some specific aspects regarding the architectural profession, so that they will be able to decide if they would like to pursue a career in this field. The course also addresses students and young professionals from related artistic fields, who already study architecture and wish to strengthen their skills in architectural freehand drawing.

Reinventing Traditional Romanian Housing | 03.09.2012 – 14.09.2012

The theme of this two week course is to reinvent traditional Romanian housing by designing sustainable house proposals. Your proposals should fit the current needs of the people and should be perfectly integrated in the city ambiance, without losing their authentic and traditional aspect. Your proposals should become new attraction poles in the urbanized city and also in the rural environment. Your projects should reflect your attitude for the return to sustainable architectural origins.

During these two weeks you will be guided by tutors, who are professionals in the field of architecture, design and urbanism and will help you to go through all necessary planning phases for a sustainable house design proposal.

Romania Seen Through Pictures | 27.08.2012 – 02.09.2012

This one week photography summer course addresses beginners in the field of photography and it will give participants the occasion to learn about different basic photographic techniques and exercise their photography skills. You will take part in workshops and lectures and you will have the opportunity to use various photographic methods during organized field trips to important touristic sites from Romania.
At the end of the summer course there will be a final public examination, where a commission will vote for the best three students, who will receive scholarships for an ISSS-2013 session.
